The 1st Mirboo North Joey Scout Mob meets every Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm during term time.
Joey Scouts are boys and girls aged 5yrs to 7.5yrs who like having fun and making friends!
When you join Joeys you’ll be part of a Mob.
The Joey Scout motto is HOP – Help Other People! You’ll learn to jump in and HOP, and to share with your friends.

Joey Scouts are the start learning leadership skills from the start they
Learn through participation in enjoyable activities.
Develop a sense of sharing.
Develop a sense of personal identity through exploration of surroundings and nature.
Provide a means for personal expression.
Develop the sense of belonging.
Accept the Joey Scout Promise and participate in activities which will expand their understanding and experience in
the Joey Scout theme of "Helping Other People".
Develop an awareness of been thankful and appreciation of nature.
Develop an appreciation of the history and ideals of the Scout Movement.
Develop a sense of responsibility for one's self and one's actions.
Encourage progression to the Cub Scout Section.
In short, the Joey Scout Section will help Joey Scouts learn about self, nature, helping others and as a result find fun.

KANGAREE
Every three years Joey Scouts have the opportunity to ‘camp’ (inside a pavilion) and play with hundreds of other new friends.
The ‘Kangaree’ is like a condensed version of the famous Jamboree for Scouts. It’s a brief time away from home, at Lardner Park, and a fantastic way to introduce our youngest members to the fun of a camping trip with friends.
They also get to play games and team up for challenges.
Costs
Minimal annual fees are payable as well as costs associated with the uniform and occasional camps and other excursions.

Uniforms
The official uniform consists of a shirt, navy blue pants enclosed black or brown shoes plus scarf and woggle. The Joey Scout Scout shirt is tan/rust and blue and must be purchased by each member. At 1st Mirboo North we will supply the first scarf and woggle on investiture.

MANAGING ALLERGIES
If your child has an allergy or asthma the leaders need to be aware of please complete the relevant Allergy/Asthma Action Plan, found in our forms, and ensure the leader is given this.
